Secto Rally

The legendary Vetomies, the main competition of the season for many driver pairs, is a must-attend competition. Driving alongside a World Rally Championship, in front of large crowds, is a dream come true for many people, more easily than participating in the World Rally Championship itself, and that may be one of the reasons for the enduring popularity of the competition.

In the beginning, the competition was easily driven with two-wheel drive F-group vehicles, such as Ford Escorts, Opel Asconas or even Toyota Starlets, now the recommended vehicle is probably a 90s BMW M3 or a 325. In addition to the older two-wheel drive vehicles, there is also a four-wheel drive vehicle of the World Championship nature, which is not offered. These four-wheel drive cars are usually competed with in Finland in the SM5 class of the Rally Championship, or in the four-wheel drive class of the F-Cup Rally Series.

The king of the two-wheel drive is crowned with the Vetomies title, and the four-wheel drive with the Nelivetomies title. There are V1600 competitors, whose drivers are closest to standard cars, equipped with engines under 1.6 liters. This equipment competes domestically mainly in the SM4 class or the F-Cup V1600 class. The V1600 competes with the two-strokes, but the fastest V1600 is awarded.

The drivers will drive on Friday, August 1. After the World Championship drivers, the special stages Laukaa 1, Saarikas 1, Myhinpää 1, Ruuhimäki 1 and at the end of the day they will still be cornering before the World Championship drivers on Harju 2.

The second day of competition, Saturday, August 2., includes four more fantastic special stages. As on Friday, the World Series will be followed by Parkkola 1, Västilä 1, Päijälä 1, and finally Leustu 1.

The drivers' service area and start are at Killer, but the finish is located near the nerve center of the World Rally Championship at Paviljonki, next to which the drivers' prize-giving ceremony will also take place.
