Triathlon

Wikipedia defines triathlon as a combination of swimming, cycling and running. The sport includes distances of different lengths: the full distance includes a 3.8 km swim and 180 km bike ride, and the marathon, which is 42,195 meters. Other competition formats include sprint distance, half distance and ultra distance, and the Olympic Games compete in a quarter distance.

Triathlon was developed by the San Diego Track Club in California in the early 1970s. The first Ironman race was held in Hawaii in 1978, the visibility of which has increased the popularity of the sport. The sport was included in the Olympics for the first time in Sydney in 2000.
