Mexico (Spanish: México), officially the United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos), is a country in southern North America with a population of 119.5 million, bordering the United States, Belize, and Guatemala. The capital is Mexico City. Mexico is the world's most populous Spanish-speaking country. It is the third-largest country in North America by area and the second-largest by population.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup. It will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The United States hosted the World Cup in 1994, and Mexico hosted the World Cup in 1986 and 1970. Canada has never hosted the World Cup before.

The World Cup will be played in 16 cities, two of which are in Canada, three in Mexico, and eleven in the United States.

The opening match will be played on June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, and the final on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

A soccer match is governed primarily by the rules of the Federation Internationale de Football Association, or FIFA. One of the areas covered by FIFA is the quality of the ball used in the competition. The air pressure of the soccer ball is one of the subjects of the Laws of the Game.

Air pressure
According to FIFA laws, the regulated air pressure of the ball must be between 8.5 and 15.6 psi. Before each game, referees control the ball to ensure that it is correct.

Effects of air pressure
When a soccer ball is inflated below 8.5 psi, it is considered too flat and as a result it is more difficult to kick it and send it across the playing field. When there is a lot of air in the ball, the ball is harder to control: it bounces a little more and is harder, which is especially evident when a teammate's team receives a pass and the ball leaves your foot much more.

Inflation
Purchased soccer balls come with recommendations on the air pressure you should have. Most sporting goods stores also sell air pressure gauges that allow you to check the air pressure in your ball, as well as manual pumps to inflate it. Before playing, check the ball for any tears or rips that could affect its inflation. Even the newest ball will lose air pressure after a while.

Over 40 million euros for national sports organizations in Finland

The Minister of Physical Education, Sports and Youth, from the Ministry of Education and Culture, has granted general grants to organisations promoting physical activity. A total of over 40.8 million euros was granted. Some of the general grants are now granted for the first time in two-year terms as part of the multi-year experiment. In addition, 29 summer sports federations were granted a total of over 4.5 million euros in support of enhancing top-level coaching.

The national sports service organisations, the Finnish Olympic Committee and the Finnish Paralympic Committee, received a total of 8,575,000 euros, and the sports federations (72) were granted a total of 22,821,500 euros. Other organisations promoting physical activity (25) received a total of 5,398,900 euros. This group of organisations also includes one new organisation eligible for state aid, the Finnish Athletes' Association, which received 53,000 euros. Regional sports organisations (15) received a total of 4,075,900 euros.

When considering the amount of state grants, the quality, scope and social impact of the organisation's activities are taken into account, among other things. In addition, an assessment is made of how the organisation implements the objectives of the Sports Act, the ethical principles of sports and sports, and promotes equality and equity.
Regional sports organisations will be granted a grant of 207,000 euros for the joint task of increasing physical activity. The national implementation, coordination and communication of the task will be transferred to the regional organisations during 2026 as a result of the change in strategy made by the Olympic Committee.

A review of regional sports organisations and other organisations promoting sports will be carried out during 2026, with the aim of increasing the transparency and fairness of the grant system and ensuring that the grants are proportionate to each other. In addition, the aim of the review is to find a long-term funding model for the physical activity lifestyle task assigned to regional sports organizations.

A path that changes parents' lax attitude towards children's well-being

JAMA Pediatr
Published Online: December 12, 2022
2023;177;(1):62-70.

Longitudinal Associations Between Use of Mobile Devices for Calming and Emotional Reactivity and Executive Functioning in Children Aged 3 to 5 Years

Key Points

    Question
    • Is the use of mobile devices to calm young children's emotions and behavior associated with long-term difficulties with their executive functioning and emotional reactivity?

    Findings
    • In this cohort study of 422 parents and 422 children, increased use of mobile devices for calming children aged 3 to 5 years was found to be associated with decreased executive functioning and increased emotional reactivity at baseline; however, only emotional reactivity had bidirectional, longitudinal associations with device use for calming at 3 and 6 months of follow-up. The associations were found to be increased in boys and children with higher temperamental surgency.

    Meaning
    • The findings of this study suggest that, particularly in young boys or young children with higher surgency, the frequent use of devices for calming should be avoided.

In short The issue has been interpreted as "Continuous calming with a smart device disrupts a child's emotional regulation and development" in the medical journal.

Easing a child's anger with a smart device can provide quick relief for parents. However, as a repeated habit, it prevents the development of the individual's emotional processing and management and is associated with weaker executive control and stronger emotional reactions, especially in boys and children with a more explosive nature. A prospective cohort study investigated how 3-5 year olds (n=422, 53% boys) who were developed for their age responded to calming with a smart device. 94% of the respondents were mothers. Children's executive control skills and emotional reactions were assessed using standardized questionnaires.

Emotional processing and management skills develop rapidly between the ages of 2 and 5. This is influenced by the child's innate characteristics and environment. If a smart device is always used when a child is upset, emotional processing and management skills, and possibly the development of executive functions, will be pushed into the future.

      Youth Soccer
The ball for youth soccer leagues is slightly smaller than a regular soccer ball because the players are smaller. While a regular soccer ball is usually 26 to 27 inches (66 to 68 centimeters) in diameter, a youth ball is 23 to 24 inches (58 to 60 centimeters) in diameter for players under 8 years old. Some retailers have also made it easier to buy soccer balls by putting a code number next to the ball size. The smallest youth soccer ball is a 3. The largest is a 4, and then a 5 for adults and teenagers.

Available in stock, Stargames Gym Bag, €20/piece (incl. VAT) in stock. A match ball with a circumference of 68-69 cm, which has been filled with air according to FIFA regulations, e.g. 10 psi, fits in the Gym Bag. Alternatively, the Gym Bag is suitable as a storage and carrying bag for two deflated balls. The Gym Bag is intended for enthusiasts who want to carry hygiene items and light underwear. The front pocket is perfect for a small phone or a battery for charging it. The charging cable can be easily passed through the fabric made of recycled material at the cross mark, if you are playing and charging at the same time.

Governance and Board / Shareholder right to question ...
      Last post by Stargames ® - February 04, 2026, 07:31:00 PM
      Right to question

The regulations and articles of association determine what is discussed separately at the general meeting. Typically, the consideration of the financial statements at the company's annual general meeting is preceded by a review by the CEO of the company's operations, the most important events of the financial year and the company's business. In particular, in connection with the consideration of the financial statements, shareholders have the opportunity to ask the CEO and the Board of Directors a fairly wide range of questions under their right to question under Section 5:25 of the Finnish Companies Act.

The annual general meeting must decide on the adoption of the financial statements. According to the Accounting Act, the financial statements always include a balance sheet, income statement and notes. The annual general meeting may also decide to postpone the approval of the financial statements to a further meeting in accordance with Section 5:24.2 of the Finnish Companies Act. The annual general meeting may also decide to postpone other matters belonging to the annual general meeting to a further meeting.

The adoption of the financial statements is one of the most important decisions of the annual general meeting. Without a confirmed financial statement, the general meeting cannot decide on the distribution of assets from the profit accumulated in the previous financial period. Section 13:3 of the Finnish Limited Liability Companies Act links the distribution of assets to the most recently confirmed financial statement.

Terraforming Mars / Game of the Year 2019 (title s...
      Last post by Stargames ® - February 04, 2026, 08:15:14 AM
Large corporations are competing to transform Mars into a habitable planet. Raising the temperature, creating a breathable atmosphere, and forming oceans require enormous resources and cutting-edge technology. As terraforming progresses, more and more settlers from Earth arrive to populate the red planet. In Terraforming Mars, you lead a corporation with its own unique strengths. You play project cards, strengthen your production, build cities and green spaces on the map, and compete for rewards and achievements.

      Shared variables:

Temperature, oxygen content, and number of oceans are shared variables. As you increase their values, your Earthliness rating also increases by the same amount, which gives you more income and victory points.

The most important variable is oxygen content. Without a breathable atmosphere, Mars is neither habitable nor Earth-like. The oxygen content of Earth's atmosphere is 21%. Above sea level, this content decreases as the atmospheric pressure decreases. At an altitude of 3000 meters, the oxygen content is 14%, and at this altitude there are several large cities in the Andes and China. The most notable examples are El Alto (4150 m) and La Paz (3640 m) in Bolivia, both with nearly a million inhabitants.

Earth's atmosphere also contains 78% nitrogen, which is the main component of atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure is an important variable, but not as critical as oxygen content. Mars's very weak magnetic field also affects its Earth-likeness.

For the hydrological cycle, sea cover is needed on the surface. Its phenomena are atmospheric humidity and various weather phenomena. Water also plays an important role in moderating temperature fluctuations. In very shallow conditions, the seas would be frozen for most of the year.
