WaynesonWT referred to Eritrea in his profile. We wish all gamers a lot of fun playing in Eritrea and the Arctic. Although the temperature on Mars can already reach 20 degrees Celsius on "hot" summer days, it is still not enough. The seas need a positive average temperature at least at the equator to remain melten.



Eritrea is located in the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. This is where the country got its name: the Greeks called the Red Sea Sinus Erythraeus and the Romans Mare Erythraeum, literally the Red Sea. In terms of surface, Eritrea includes parts of the Ethiopian Highlands and the Danakil Depression, where temperatures can rise to up to 60 °C and which is one of the hottest places in the world. The rest of the country is cooler and rainier.



Now it is important to also see the Arctic border, which is illustrated in the Stargames Top Match Ball figure. At the moment today at the southern border of the Arctic region it is currently -16 degrees Celsius and at the same longitude at Admin coordinates 61.4560 N and 23.9120 E, at the base of the flagpole -26 degrees Celsius.

Large corporations are competing to transform Mars into a habitable planet. Raising the temperature, creating a breathable atmosphere, and forming oceans require enormous resources and cutting-edge technology. As terraforming progresses, more and more settlers from Earth arrive to populate the red planet. In Terraforming Mars, you lead a corporation with its own unique strengths. You play project cards, strengthen your production, build cities and green spaces on the map, and compete for rewards and achievements.



Shared variables:

Temperature, oxygen content, and number of oceans are shared variables. As you increase their values, your Earthliness rating also increases by the same amount, which gives you more income and victory points.

The most important variable is oxygen content. Without a breathable atmosphere, Mars is neither habitable nor Earth-like. The oxygen content of Earth's atmosphere is 21%. Above sea level, this content decreases as the atmospheric pressure decreases. At an altitude of 3000 meters, the oxygen content is 14%, and at this altitude there are several large cities in the Andes and China. The most notable examples are El Alto (4150 m) and La Paz (3640 m) in Bolivia, both with nearly a million inhabitants.

Earth's atmosphere also contains 78% nitrogen, which is the main component of atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure is an important variable, but not as critical as oxygen content. Mars's very weak magnetic field also affects its Earth-likeness.

For the hydrological cycle, sea cover is needed on the surface. Its phenomena are atmospheric humidity and various weather phenomena. Water also plays an important role in moderating temperature fluctuations. In very shallow conditions, the seas would be frozen for most of the year.
