We are concerned about the addictive effect of the internet and the addictive effect of games on children and young people, contributing to declining health values.
Doctors' Week magazine 6/2020 published an article on the following topics on behalf of children, young people and people with disabilities.
- The profileration of smartphones has made the internet and games available to almost all Finns over the age of seven;
- Abundant use of intelligent devices does not mean dependency unless it impairs other functional capabilities;
- The ever-present phone and application algorithms make the smartphone more addictive than any computer program at the beginning of the web
era; - Game and social media addiction re-associated with increased anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and lower school success; and
- All forms of Internet addiction are experimental so far (Kosola, 2020)
